raising money for the homeless
Hi friends!
It's September again, meaning that my birthday is around the corner. However, with everything that is going on in the world, in addition to this seemingly endless pandemic, it's really hard to be in a celebratory mood. I find that making a difference and doing good for the world is the one thing that can always be uplifting in times like this. In the past, I've done a few fundraisers for my birthday, and I wanted to do something meaningful this year as well. I have found that putting in some time and effort myself and offering something in return to entice people to participate is far more effective than simply asking for donations, so that's what I'm doing this year too.
The cause I've chosen to raise money for is settlement assistance for Afghan refugees fleeing from the Taliban, and to do so, I'm donating all the proceeds from photoshoots booked from today until September 28th to organizations that are aiding with their settlement. These photoshoots will be priced at $72 for 8 edits - those who've worked with me before know how awesome of a deal this is compared to standard rates, and it's for a great cause too! September is a busy time of the year and we often forget about those who are less fortunate than us when we're so caught up in our own lives. Every dollar raised through this effort will be donated. Together, we get to help take care of people who have suffered for decades and are starting their lives again from scratch in hopes of a better tomorrow.
