Grand Dreamer

reshaping the future one dent at a time

Do it right or not at all

I feel strongly about seeing things through and doing work that I can be proud of; it's been my approach in everything I've been involved in. I'm always looking for new challenges and I take joy in unraveling the intricacies and complexities of any issue, thinking everything through. I'm not afraid of throwing everything out the window and solving something from scratch. Frankly, with the advent of technology and new innovations, that's something the world could use more of, as opposed to clinging onto aging and often inadequate answers for evermore pressing questions.

Google Expeditions

As a VR Product Expert, I had the privilege of being on the forefront of Google's Expedition program, using the Cardboard platform to take students on virtual reality field trips. By far the most rewarding work I've ever done, I took nearly 50,000 kids to over 200 different places around the world. Visiting sharks and whales beneath the ocean was by far and away the most beloved destination. Check out the app for yourself!

Ted Talks

I've been involved with the TED platform for 5 years. I started as a speaker at TEDxIB@York in 2011, and in 2012 I had the honour of being the youngest TEDx curator in the world that year with TEDxRichmondHill. Most recently, I was the Director of Partnersthips for TEDxUofT in 2015 and 2016.

Lumicision Inc.

Starting out as a co-op student, I now am the Director of Media for Lumicision, a laser machining firm in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Our work is very diverse and varied and that's part of what I really enjoy at this company. On a given day, I could be working directly with a client on designing glass wedding invitations, making an aerospace part or cutting hundreds of intricate and precise pieces for an architectural installation.

SkuleNite 1T5

SkuleNite is a yearly sketch comedy musical written by students from UofT Engineering. The 'Arts' elective I chose in high school was music, and so I had zero experience on stage or in anything theatre related, nor was I even in the engineering program, but I figured I had nothing to lose by auditioning. 6 months later, I found myself performing 5 sold out shows in what was one of the most delightful experiences of my life.

Vogue Models

My photography career has had a few successes here and there, but the peak of it has certainly been working with Vogue Models as their Official Runway photogrpaher, covering their appearances at fashions shows across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area. My very first professional event was a fashion show at York University, so to have been signed by an agency in that field was very special.

Nspire Network | NBTC 2015

Nspire Innovation Network is Canada’s largest student-run non-profit organization in the business and technology space, and they've put together the National Business and Technology Conference for the last 15 years. I was selected as the Director of Events, responsible for curate and optimize all of the content, from keynote speakers to workshops.

Tilt Canada

When Tilt wanted to expand into their first international market, they tapped Sarah Stockdale to lead their Campus Ambassador program, ensuring that the target audience of the platform was both informed and involved in their platform. I was the 7th ambassador they hired in Canada, leading the UofT campus for several months. I was even awarded a GoPro camera which I'm very fond of, as a bonus for being the monthly leader in engagement and outreach.

How about you?

What are you working on? What's something awesome you've done in the past that you think I'd enjoy hearing about? Collaboration and discussions about innovations and progress are very much my cup of tea. If anything, I'm always up to go on a photowalk and take in the city!
